Jeepers Creepers! <br/><br/>Say hello to Jeepers, the 1 year old Shepherd/Boxer mix. He sadly was returned to the shelter due to being too dominant with the other dog in the home, so his new goal is to find a family that better fits him!<br/><br/>Jeepers was initially found as a stray on the side of the highway, with no owners in sight. His finders were going to keep him, but their lives were just too busy to keep him long term. They had a house full of kids, and said that Jeepers got along great with them all! We have introduced Jeepers to a few other dogs here at the shelter, and we noticed that Jeepers seems to be very dominant with them. This is a behavior that will need to be worked on in his new home as he ages, as you want to make sure it doesn't progress into aggression. Getting him neutered would possibly help this behavior. We are requiring that any dogs already in the home come out to meet Jeepers before an adoption is completed to make sure that it is a good fit.<br/><br/>Immediately upon meeting Jeepers, we could tell he was a sweet boy. He will jump straight up in your lap and just wants to be loved on and play all day! He does try to communicate for attention through his kennel by "screaming" and doesn't realize it doesn't help him. With him having some dominant tendencies, he should be supervised around small kids and other canines until he can get used to being a part of the family.<br/><br/>Jeepers is still a young boy, and as such, his owner will need to be prepared for all of the puppy behaviors! He does keep his kennel rather clean however, He is not yet housebroken and doesn't know any commands, so training will be a must. He has plenty of energy, and will need an owner with the free time to help him exercise all of it out!<br/><br/>Jeepers really is a special boy and he deserves a home where he can be loved forever!
