Jazzy- In Foster Home!'s Story
If you have a little extra love and patience in your heart, Jazzy is waiting just for you.

Jazzy is a gentle, beautiful soul who is still learning that the world can be kind. She’s a bit afraid of her own shadow right now, but every day we see small, hopeful steps as we work on building her confidence. Deep down, she wants to be loved — she’s just not quite sure yet how to accept it.

We don’t know much about her past, but we believe she spent much of her time outside and didn’t always feel safe. Because of this, going outdoors can be scary for her, and she will need a calm, patient home willing to move at her pace. What does she love? Treats (the fastest way to her heart), gentle companionship, and being told she’s a good girl. She’s also our sweet, drooly queen — and we adore her for it.

Jazzy is fully vetted and ready for a fresh start. She’s looking for a quiet home without children, where she can finally exhale, feel safe, and learn what it means to truly belong.

Please don’t judge her by a photo or a moment inside her kennel. Once you meet her and look into those hopeful eyes, you’ll see the incredible dog she truly is — a heart just waiting to bloom with the right person.

Jazzy does very well when following the lead of another confident dog. You could say she's kind of in the market for an ESA dog of her own. We did a meet and greet with Jazzy and another dog, and she immediately perked up and started following him. After getting more comfortable in a room together, we wanted to see if she would feel comfortable enough going outside. She was hesitant at first, but had faith in her new friend. Once she was through the door, she took a couple of steps and stopped to take it all in. She was finally outside after weeks of refusing to go near a door. She walked so gently on her leash, smelling and taking all the surroundings in, going at her own pace, and eventually taking the lead in the group. She makes more and more progress every day and are so proud of how far she's come!

If you're interested in Jazzy, feel free to fill out an adoption application online at Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control, or you can fill one out here in person
