Jazzy's Story
JAZZY IS BEING FOSTERED IN MINNESOTA. APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED NATIONWIDE.

"Jazz music is the power of NOW. There is no script. It's a conversation." Wynton Marsalis

Meet Jazzy (AKA Jasmine), a four-year-old female English Shepherd who is at the threshold of NOW. Although loved by her previous owner, Jazzy is unscripted; the proverbial blank slate. She has so much to learn so she can fully share who she is. Jazzy is a shy, mellow, low energy gal waiting to begin one of those deep and meaningful conversations to savor over a lifetime. Deep connection requires deep trust and Jazzy is learning to trust new people and things. Potential adopters will need to give Jazzy time and space when presented with new people and experiences and take care not to overwhelm Jazzy; she may pace or run under that pressure. She is anxious to make a connection though, already demonstrating that she can be an English Shadow with her foster mom and even cuddling up on lazy Sunday mornings. Jazzy has lived with other dogs and may try to push to get attention. Setting fair and consistent boundaries will go a long way toward nipping any resource guarding in the bud, helping Jazzy trust that there will always be enough attention and affection for her. Establishing those expectations will also probably help with Jazzy's habit of barking when left alone; she is not a dog suited for apartment living or to be left alone outside in a fenced yard. Jazzy has not been exposed to basic obedience skills until arriving at her foster home. This presents a great opportunity for a bonding activity with the new family. Her current foster home is getting Jazzy accustomed to grooming (a full and fluffy coat will require regular attention from her new people), house-training, and walking on a leash (a work in progress). Jazzy seems OK with dog-savvy cats and crates well, including when traveling. Overall, Jazzy is a sweet girl...an unscripted jazz piece, beautiful in its complexity and its simplicity. Jazzy is ready for her NOW. Are you ready to be a part of it?

For more information about Jazzy, please contact Nancy at sciteacher74@yahoo.com and put NESR Jazzy in the subject line.
