Jax Beagle & Terrier Mix New Orleans, LA

Meet Jax, the sweetest 2-year-old Beagle (26 lbs) who found himself stuck and unclaimed at a rural kill shelter. Despite spending the holidays alone in the cold after being found as a stray, Jax's spirit remains unbroken. Upon his arrival, we bathed him, provided vaccinations, and microchipped him. Though he is heartworm positive, the treatment, which he has already begun, is entirely covered by this rescue. Jax is on his way to a healthier life and is scheduled for his neuter procedure soon.

This dog, cat, and kid-friendly boy is in search of a forever home where he won't spend holidays cold and alone again. He is not fully house trained yet but is learning quickly. He is crate trained and enjoys the company of humans.

An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information.

Puppies under 12 months - $350
Dogs over 12 months - $250

*Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our puppies live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match!
