If fun were a sport, Jasper would be undefeated. He is a happy boy. What he does need is structure, routine, a knowledgeable owner to guide him. Jasper was born deaf but still loves life, he loves people & some dogs to play! <br/><br/>Jasper just turned 4 years old this July! You wouldn't know he was deaf watching him enjoy living. He rolls with the world just like any dog, under proper guidance. This pup can be stubborn, he can be protective of one person in the home, usually the female. He is a great boy, all of the volunteers could tell you details about him, including boundaries need to be set!<br/><br/>Deaf dogs are incredibly capable, smart, and bond deeply with their people. With consistency and positive training, they absolutely shine.<br/><br/>Jasper is:<br/>- Good with kids (15+)<br/>- Good with other dogs (when out and about with supervision - not in the home)<br/>- Your willingness to train/set consistent boundaries with him is necessary, he is s special needs pup being deaf<br/>- boundaries need to be set with him: <br/>- he is a certified fun love-bug <br/><br/>We currently have him on a diet to help him lose a few pounds for his long-term health & he's taking it like a champ. The volunteers try to get him out on long walks daily. <br/><br/>Stop by to fill out an adoption application and spend as much time as you like with our dogs. **We never adopt to first-come; always to the best fit home** Please call your veterinarian to permit them to speak with us for our vet check. If you rent, bring proof (lease/contract) that you are allowed to have a dog.<br/><br/>We offer a free session with our trainer, Canine Cooperative, once an adoption is finalized.<br/><br/>Our adoption fee is $150 for dogs.
