His previous home must have pampered him because he likes to quietly sneak up to the foot of the bed at night to sleep soundly through the night.<br/><br/>Jasper is a devoted dog who bonds deeply with his people, but he has a few specific needs to ensure he stays happy and successful.<br/><br/>- The Only Royalty (No Other Pets): Jasper needs to be the only pet in the home. He prefers to have all the love to himself and is not a candidate for homes with other dogs, cats, or small animals.<br/><br/>- A "Work-from-Home" or Retired Human: Jasper thrives on human companionship and needs an owner who is home with him most of the day.<br/><br/>- No Shared Walls (Single-Family Home): Jasper has some big feelings about being crated when you leave. Because he will bark when crated, he needs a house where his vocalizations won't disturb close neighbors (no apartments or townhomes). Jasper has a fear of storms/fireworks and will pace and pant. However he will settle down when wearing a Thundershirt while snuggled up to his person.<br/><br/>- Adults-Only or Older Teens: Jasper is working hard on his impulse control and would benefit from obedience training. He still gets a bit too excited and jumps up to say hello, so a home without small children is best while he finishes learning to keep all four paws on the floor.<br/><br/>Jasper is a sweet, intelligent shadow who will dedicate himself entirely to his new family. If you have a quiet home, a spot at the end of your bed, and plenty of time to spend together, Jasper is ready to be your ultimate best friend!<br/><br/>The details:<br/><br/>Needs a fence: No, but trusted recall will need to be established before going off lead.<br/><br/>Good with cats: Has a high prey drive, so no<br/><br/>Good with dogs: Not in the home, is fine in public spaces with other dogs.<br/><br/>Good with kids: Teens and older<br/><br/>All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers.
