Jasper 3414's Story

10/7/25. JASPER is a good boy who has been through a lot before coming to our rescue. He forms strong attachments to his person and can be wary of new people in his home. We are working with him to help him reach his full potential and find the right adopter. He walks well on a leash, is very treat motivated, and doesn't mind other dogs. He may do well with another female. He will need a Doberman-savvy owner. No cats.

6/26/25. JASPER'S turn at Soulful Steep today. This 4-year-old dober gent is such a sweet, calm, and gentle dober boy. He is friendly with everyone he meets, great with kids of all ages, and rides very well in the car.

He is dog selective and may do well with another female close to his size; no cats. This is a great family dog; don't miss out on this handsome fellow.

5/25/25 Meet Jasper! He was born on October 19, 2020, and came to a local rescue from Georgia around 2024. Unfortunately, he tested high for heartworm, and the rescue had him for over six months without providing any treatment. When the rescue was closing, they adopted him out, promising the new owners they would cover the heartworm treatment. Sadly, that promise was not kept. The new owners then posted him for free on Facebook without mentioning his heartworm status. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan knew about Jasper and took him in, starting him on the necessary treatment. Now, due to a personal matter, code enforcement has sent her a letter stating that she can only have five animals on her property. Jasper deserves a loving home, and that’s why she reached out to us. He’s such a sweet, calm boy who gets along well with a gentle female dog of similar size. However, he doesn’t get along with cats and is great with kids! Not every dog is available for adoption or need a foster - some are wards of the rescue (usually due to medical reasons, but sometimes behavioral). These dogs will always be supported by DRL. We welcome financial support for these dogs. Here are links to foster and adoption applications for those dogs who need a foster home or adoptive home.
Foster Application Adoption Application
