Janie's Story

Meet Janie!
Janie is a fun, affectionate, and spunky girl who's full of life and love. She absolutely adores other dogs, is cat friendly, and would do well with older kids who can be respectful of her space. She's the kind of pup who brings joy wherever she goes, always ready for fun and happy to soak up affection!

Right now, Janie is on the road to recovery after leg surgery. She still has a pin in place and will need some time to heal, but she's already more comfortable after her first procedure and continues to make great progress. We are currently accepting applications for pre-adoption, with the goal for her to go home toward the end of April if everything stays on track.

Janie will likely always have a slight limp, and due to some angular deformity in her bones, she may develop arthritis earlier in life. Because of this, she'll need a home committed to keeping her comfortable and supported long-term--but in return, she'll give you endless love, joy, and companionship.

Despite everything she's been through, Janie's spirit is bright and resilient. She's a happy, loving pup who is ready to find a family to continue her journey and cheer her on every step of the way.Big Paws of the Ozarks is a foster-based dog rescue in Northwest Arkansas. Big Paws of the Ozarks's Adoption Policy
All adopters must fill out an application on our website with all necessary information. From there, our staff will conduct a phone interview and answer any questions regarding the dog or the adoption process. Once approved, a meet and greet is scheduled with the family, dog, and dog's foster family. This is the time where other pets can be introduced. If the meet and greet goes well, we can send the dog in a trial adoption for a few days to make sure it is a perfect fit for everyone. From there the adoption is finalized through payment of the adoption fee and transferring of vet records.
