Meet Jango <br/>Jango is an adorable male Shih-tzu mix, born August 2, 2020, and weighing about 12.5 pounds. This little guy has a great personality, a playful spirit, and a very special buddy named Chewie.<br/>Jango and Chewie came to Prairie Paws Rescue from an area pound after they went unclaimed and were placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, their story took a very different turn, and these two little dogs are now safe and looking for their forever home.<br/>When Jango arrived, his coat was severely matted and desperately needed attention. After some much-needed grooming, he is feeling—and looking—so much better! His future family should know that Shih-tzu mixes require regular grooming and coat maintenance. Grooming every couple of months is an ongoing expense that adopters of non-shedding breeds should be prepared for.<br/>Jango recently had his neuter, and his foster family is helping him learn a good routine for house training. It is a work in progress, but he is making progress! Jango keeps his kennel clean for up to 5 hours during the day and overnight. His future family will need to continue a consistent routine and give him time, patience, and plenty of opportunities to be successful.<br/>And then there is Jango's adorable personality! He knows exactly how to beg for a treat—and he will wave his little paws at you to make his request known! It is absolutely precious. He also enjoys playing with toys and gets excited when he sees a leash, so he is always ready for a little adventure.<br/>Jango usually follows his buddy Chewie around, and the two have become quite the little duo. They would love to find a home together where they can continue life as a pair.<br/>Jango and Chewie do well together, but their foster family has noticed that the two sometimes like to boss around or bully the other small dogs in the home. Because of this, they are closely monitored. If there is already another dog in the household, a home where Jango and Chewie can be separated from the resident dog may work better. They would love to be the only two dogs in their forever home, where they can have all the attention to themselves.<br/>Jango is a sweet little guy who has been given a second chance, and now he is hoping that his next chapter will be the one that lasts forever.
