Jake's Story
Meet Jake! SEE FOSTER UPDATES BELOW!

This happy-go-lucky plott hound/lab mix will have you grinning from ear to ear. He is five years old and is 65 pounds of playful perfection! He has the most wonderful endearing optimism about him that you just have to experience for yourself.

Jake is currently enjoying some time away from the kennel in a great foster home and we are excited to share all we learned about him. House-trained and crate-trained, Jake aims to please! He has spent some time with kids and did wonderful with them.

Jake absolutely loves his toys (plushies are his favorite). Jake is a fan of meaty treats and knows several commands too! His foster dad is able to take both toys and food away with no issue. Jake's go to move is to gently put his chin on your lap when he's ready to snuggle up for a nap.

Jake rides well in the car and does well on leash with a capable handler. After he's done patrolling the yard (fenced-in yard preferred), you'll often find him lounging on the couch napping. After all-it's exhausting keeping the yard free from pesky critters! At the end of the day, Jake sleeps quietly through the night.

Based on our evaluation, we feel he will do well in and active, but predictable home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. Jake would most likely be happiest as an only pet where he can soak up all the affection you have to give.

If you think he could be the fellow for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our jovial Jake!
