Jada's Story

In February 2023, we rescued Jada and her sister, Kali, from a shelter. They were likely dumped puppies as no owner claimed them.

A Great Pyrenees/Saint Bernard mix, 2 year old Jada is a fun loving girl who LOVES attention from people. Kid friendly, she gets so excited when the grandkids come to visit her foster home. She would do well with older kids in the home as her size and exuberance might knock littles over. Always up for a play session, Jada loves to wrestle and play and when she's worn out she's good for a nap! She doesn't quite know her size and has been known to fall off the ottoman! A confident girl, Jada is bonded to her sister and they need a home with no cats or other female dogs. Jada is potty trained and walks pretty well on a leash.
*Being fostered in Jackson, MO

Jada weighs 90 lbs, is spayed, up to date on core vaccines, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives.

Adoption Requirements:
*A secure, visible fence
*A home visit
*A vet check with at least a two year vet history

Adopters can be located in Missouri and surrounding states: Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois. Great Pyrenees Rescue of Missouri's Adoption Policy
Applicants must have a secure and visible fence and children in the home must be 12 or older. In order for your application to be approved, you must also pass a home check and a vet check which includes having at least a two year vet history. All of our dogs can be adopted in Missouri and surrounding states that we are currently able to transport to: Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Arkansas. Our adoption fees are: Dogs 1 year and older: $400 Puppies under 1 year: $450 All of our rescued Pyrenees are fully vetted prior to adoption, spayed/neutered (dogs 1 year and older), microchipped, up-to-date on immunizations, and up-to-date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. The adoption process begins when you complete an online Adoption Application, naming either one or a few of our available dogs you are interested in adopting. Completing an application does not restrict you to a specific dog, nor does it obligate you to adopt. Once we have received your application and determined if you are a good match for the dog you are interested in, a representative from our adoption team will contact you to go over our process in its entirety. From there, we will put you in contact with the foster parent, so you may set up a meet and greet with the dog, in person when possible or video chat if that isn't an option. Before adopting, keep in mind that many of our dogs prior to being rescued and placed in foster homes have never lived inside a home. Some dogs may never have been walked on a leash, socialized, house-trained or spent time with other animals. Our fosters work with these dogs on many of these issues to prepare them for their furever homes, but these dogs will still need patience and understanding as they learn to adapt when they come to you. Rescued dogs need adopters who will not give up on them if they have accidents in the house, pull on the leash, dig in the yard, or act nervous or frightened. An adoption will be successful only if the adopter is committed to seeing the dog through the adjustment period. The rewards are the unconditional love and loyalty of a wonderful companion, and the satisfaction of knowing you have given a rescued dog a better life. If at any time after adoption, you decide you cannot keep the pet for any reason, the dog must be returned to Great Pyrenees Rescue of Missouri.
