*Jackson*'s Story

ADOPTED!!!

4 years old, Jackson is a special dog needing help!

Jackson is a beautiful, loving, playful dog needing a new home. Jackson was originally rescued from New Orleans in 2006 during the Hurricane Katrina crisis. Like many dogs caught in the aftermath of the Hurricane, Jackson endured a puppy-hood of uncertainty, sickness, and life in a shelter. After being rescued and adopted at 8 months old, Jackson beat the odds and overcame Giardia (a water-born parasitic illness that he contracted from spending time in infected flood water), tapeworm, and an autoimmune deficiency resulting in localized mange.

After making a full recovery with no lasting physical effects, Jackson became a thriving dog and wonderful, loyal family member. Jackson is a wonderful companion, and excellent guard dog. Jackson would love to find a new home with love, consistency, and someone who would take the time to work with him on his fear and anxiety issues. Jackson is fully house-trained and is a sweet, quiet boy who can live either with or without other pets, but may benefit from being the only dog in the household.

He is currently living in Ohio. His owners rescued him as a puppy after he was born in an animal shelter after Hurricane Katrina. Soon after, his owners discovered that he was a "fear biter." After an incident where he was being very protective of a young toddler in which a man came up very quickly towards the child, and Jackson bit him on the back. Jackson has had a rough life. He was born at a time when chaos and instability was rampant and some of his early experiences have apparently shaped the way he handles fear and a perceived threat. If you would like more information on how you could help to rehome Jackson, please contact Nichole.

Home: 513-583-9245
Cell: 571-216-1949

Jackson is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all his shots, frontlined, etc.

We think that perhaps the best type of home Jackson would be suited for might be with a person who is fearful of living by themselves, as Jackson is very protective of his environment and surroundings. He had been used to sleeping on a couch or bed, so he would be a great cuddley dog. Jackson weighs about 72 pounds.

His adoption fee is $75. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all shots and housetrained!
