Jack's Story
Jack is a sensitive, gentle guy who's still figuring out the world and looking for someone he can trust. When he's feeling unsure, he can be a bit shy--and sometimes barky--but underneath that is a very sweet dog who just wants to feel safe. In quieter moments, he's shown his affectionate side, even climbing into a staff member's lap for comfort.

He's a reserved dog who takes time to warm up, so meet-and-greets will be important to help him feel comfortable with new people. Once he starts to feel secure, he enjoys staying close and will happily follow his person around.

There are a few important things to know about Jack. He's not very leash trained yet and will need patience and guidance to build confidence on walks. He can also try to dig out of yards, so a secure, escape-proof yard is a must. Because he can get overwhelmed by high energy and has chased children before, he needs an adult-only home where things stay more predictable and low-key.

Jack isn't the kind of dog who will jump into new situations with confidence--but for someone willing to go slow and give him the reassurance he needs, he has the potential to be an incredibly loyal and devoted companion.
