This sweet girl is looking for a family willing to give her the love and understanding she deserves. <br/><br/>Meet Izzy <br/><br/>Izzy is a 1-year-old Plott Hound mix (best guess) weighing 48 pounds. She came into rescue as an owner surrender through no fault of her own and is now hoping for a fresh start with a family that will appreciate just how special she is. <br/><br/>One of the first things you'll notice about Izzy is her adorable underbite. While it certainly adds to her charm, it also means she has some special feeding needs. Due to the severity of her underbite, Izzy cannot comfortably eat from a bowl placed on the ground. She does best eating wet food or kibble softened with water from a raised feeder. With this simple accommodation, she does very well and enjoys her meals without difficulty. <br/><br/>Aside from her feeding setup, Izzy is an absolutely wonderful dog. She is affectionate, gentle, and loves being around people. Despite her unique needs, she doesn't let anything slow her down and approaches life with a happy attitude and a wagging tail. She is currently in a foster home in Georgia while she waits for her ride to Wisconsin. <br/><br/>Izzy is looking for a foster or adoptive home that understands her feeding requirements and is willing to provide the small adjustments she needs to thrive. Application processing: we do a thorough background check, landlord approval (if applicable) or home ownership verification, vet check, and review your application. This process can take up to 5 business days. note: if renting, please have your landlord write letter of approval for you to have a dog, including breed restrictions, and either send to muttlifeapps@gmail.com or submit document during application submission.? Please authorize your vet to release medical information with Mutt Life. ? Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. ?Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure its the right fit. Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue.
