<p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">Meet Izzy!</p><br/><br/><p>This sweet little girl has found herself in a situation that no dog should ever have to experience, especially at 8 years old.</p><br/><br/><p>For her entire life, Izzy knew nothing but love, comfort, and being spoiled by her human dad. She had a home, a routine, and someone who adored her. Sadly, her dad passed away, and just like that, the only life she had ever known was gone.</p><br/><br/><p>A family member took her in but was unable to keep her, and poor Izzy found herself in a big, scary shelter. Can you imagine? Going from a warm, loving home where you were someone's whole world to suddenly being surrounded by unfamiliar sights, sounds, and people, with no idea what happened or why?</p><br/><br/><p>Thankfully, we were contacted about Izzy and were able to bring her into our rescue!</p><br/><br/><p>Izzy is an adorable 8-year-old Bichon mix who weighs just 12 pounds. She is spayed, current on all her vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped, wormed, and as sweet as they come!</p><br/><br/><p>One thing we do want to mention is that Izzy will require regular professional grooming. When she was rescued, she was very overdue for a grooming, but thankfully, a wonderful groomer stepped in and took great care of her before she came to us! With her type of coat, routine grooming and brushing are necessities, not luxuries, to prevent painful matting and keep her comfortable and healthy. We want her future family to understand and be prepared for that ongoing commitment.</p><br/><br/><p>She is now settling into a wonderful foster home, where she gets along beautifully with the resident dogs. Her foster mom says she is the BEST little houseguest! She hasn't had a single potty accident in the home, although we always remind adopters to expect a few accidents while a new dog adjusts. And if there aren't any? Well, praise the heavens for small favors!</p><br/><br/><p>Izzy has not been around cats, but based on her sweet, easygoing personality, we certainly wouldn't be surprised if she did just fine with a feline friend, too!</p><br/><br/><p>So, what kind of home are we hoping to find for this precious girl?</p><br/><br/><p>We would love a quieter home where Izzy can settle back into the peaceful, loving life she once knew. We are looking for a home without young children, not because she has shown any issues, but because we know she hasn't been exposed to them, and quite frankly, this little girl's world has been turned upside down enough already.</p><br/><br/><p>Someone looking for a sweet little lap baby? Well, Izzy just might be your girl! She would be perfectly happy being someone's one and only, although she gets along wonderfully with other dogs.</p><br/><br/><p>She also enjoys exploring the fenced yard at her foster home, sniffing around and taking in the world at her own pace, so a home with a fenced yard would be wonderful for her.</p><br/><br/><p>What we want most for Izzy is something she once had and deserves to have again: a person or family who will love her, spoil her, and give her the security of knowing she is HOME.</p><br/><br/><p>At 8 years old, Izzy should be enjoying the comforts of life, not having to start all over again.
