Ivy's Story
Have you ever looked back at some of the things you did as a teenage pup and just… cringe? Be kind to yourself—you were still learning. And so was I.

Hi, I'm Ivy. I’ll be turning three at the end of this month, and I’ve been at the shelter since I was nine months old. Why so long? Well, being a teenager is tough. Living with a teenager is tough. And being a teenager without a family of your own? Extra tough. I’m a smart, loving, energetic dog, and kennel life has never agreed with me.

For a while, I got to stay in a foster home, and it helped me grow into a much happier, more balanced dog. Now I’m back at the shelter—and I’m ready to show off everything I’ve learned. I’m about 70 lbs, fully grown, and working hard at channeling my energy and intelligence. I’ve met cats and done well with them, I’m focused and friendly, and I LOVE to show off my tricks. I’m a total champ at “place” and “lie down.”

My previous foster—and my friends at Purina Farms—believe in me so much that they’ve sponsored my adoption fee.

If you’re interested in meeting me, please fill out a preliminary application at odas.org/canine and someone will contact you to schedule a visit.
