Iris's Story

Meet Iris -- tiny, tough, and totally snuggle-approved!
This 5lb Yorkie (estimated to be around 5 years old) may be small, but her story is mighty. Iris came into rescue as a stray in rough shape, with matted fur, dirty ears, and painful dental issues that required a big makeover--20 missing teeth and 5 more pulled! But don't worry... she's feeling SO much better now and ready to enjoy the good life she's always deserved.

Despite all that, she is sweet as pie. This girl is pure cuddle material. She will let you hold her and cradle her like a baby. She will happily snooze the day away wrapped in soft blankets. If you're looking for a calm, quiet companion, Iris is ready to fill that role perfectly. She has a calm, gentle spirit and would thrive in a home where she can relax, feel safe, and be doted on.

Iris does great with other dogs and finds comfort near them. She doesn't seem to mind cats and we have no doubt that she'd be fine with them. After all, most of them are twice her size! She'd do fine with calm, respectful kids.
Iris is currently practicing her leash skills so a secured fenced in yard would be preferred for her to keep her safe.
She is working on crate training and potty training. She will go and sleep in her crate at night but is still learning to keep a clean crate. Taking her out on a consistent schedule with patience is key.

Iris is spayed, microchipped, heartworm tested, and fully vaccinated (rabies, distemper/parvo lepto, and bordetella).

Iris is ready to leave her past behind and live the spoiled, cozy life she deserves. If you've got a soft spot for tiny dogs and big snuggles, she's waiting for you.

Apply to adopt Iris at www.pawsofadamscounty.com/adoption-foster-app

When applying, please answer each question completely and honestly. Only complete applications will be considered.
Thank you for considering adopting!
Feel free to message us for more details!www.pawsofadamscounty.com
