Iris's Story

Iris is the definition of a true rescue. She was going to be euthanized at the county shelter after she had been picked up as a "stray". She had a six pound mass hanging from her abdomen, thick callouses on her elbows and hind, teeth worn down to the gum line, and she had clearly been used for backyard breeding *many* times, receiving very little care for the last 9 years. We took her in, had her mass surgically removed, and we have consulted with an oncologist as her pathology reports diagnosed her with having a soft tissue sarcoma. We will be moving forward with a daily low dose chemotherapy pill, and she will need a home who can provide ongoing monitoring and care. Ultimately, we don't know how long miss Iris will have with us, but we do know she deserves to be loved and cherished and adored for every moment, day, month and year she has. We *will* cover the costs of her chemotherapy and rechecks even post-adoption if necessary!

When we say Iris deserves the best, it's because she is an incredible girl. Despite the life she has clearly lived in the past, she is sweet as can be, soulful, affectionate and loving. She has never had an accident in the house, is non-destructive, loves walks, is great on a leash, and she is even in foster with other dogs. She is a beautiful, low-rider, brindle pittie looking for a loving family able to spoil her with nothing but cozy beds, belly rubs, fun outings, daily walks and loads of TLC.

Her adoption fee includes her vaccines, microchip, and her chemotherapy treatment plan (if necessary). Apply below to come meet this beautiful mama. Her sweet spirit and thankful eyes will absolutely melt your heart.
