Meet Irene

Meet Irene! She is about 7 months old, 33 pounds, and she looks like she has some Lab in her mix! Irene loves her people and playing with other dogs. She could go to a home with other dogs, a confident/dog savvy cat and/or kids 5+. Irene has been living as an outdoor only foster and is not house trained or used to walking on leash. So while she is safe, cared for and vetted, it is best to assume she needs help adapting to indoor life.
Irene's ideal adopters will be home for most of the day (beyond the COVID quarantine period) and enjoy being active, with a fenced in yard and/or lots of walks to provide her with daily, positive new experiences with people and other dogs, as well as life skills through training. Adopters will need to teach their puppy house-training and crate-training. Enrolling in a puppy training class with a certified, positive reinforcement dog trainer is required. Adopters are encouraged to commit to training beyond the initial required class.
Her foster says, "Irene is a sweet, playful dog. She loves her toys and playing with the other dogs she is living with. When held, she melts in your lap. Irene would be great in any home and family who can provide love because she will give it back twofold. She stayed inside after being spayed and was relaxed, did not have an accident, or cry. My husband held her and she feel asleep in his lap. She is appreciative of all attention and affection."
