Inhwa's Story

Inhwa’s name means “kind and harmonious” in Korean, and he truly lives up to it. Just one year old and weighing about 20 pounds, he was born in Korea and abandoned as a tiny puppy on the street. Taken to a city pound, his future looked uncertain—but he was rescued just in time.

Now safe, healthy, and full of life, Inhwa has come all the way to the United States, where he’s waiting for the one thing still missing: a forever family.

From the moment you meet him, you’ll notice his friendly nature. Inhwa approaches everyone—no matter their age or gender—with gentle curiosity. He loves to be petted, cuddled, and touched, as if he knows how lucky he is to finally be loved.

With other dogs, Inhwa is both careful and playful. He enjoys their company and has even helped shy foster dogs learn how to socialize. Big dogs, small dogs—it doesn’t matter to him, he’s happy to play with them all. Cats, however, don’t catch his attention. He’s seen them on the street and calmly ignored them. He prefers people over wildlife any day.

Out on walks, Inhwa is a joy. He walks confidently on leash, unfazed by traffic or loud noises, and even finds rainy walks fun. He is completely potty trained, enjoys car rides, and is always ready for the next outing. At foster home home, he is well behaved, no separation anxiety observed. He is not picky with food—though steamed pumpkin, sweet potato, and carrots make him especially happy.

When he gets excited, Inhwa might show his enthusiasm with a gentle little nibble. But he’s quick to understand and will stop immediately when told “No.” It’s just his way of saying, “I really, really like you!”

What Inhwa dreams of most is a family who will give him plenty of love and attention. He would be happy with an active family who enjoys hiking and traveling, but just as happy with people who want a devoted companion for everyday adventures. Whether as an only dog or alongside another furry friend, Inhwa is ready to fit right in.

From a city pound to a safe foster home, Inhwa has already come a long way. Now, all he needs is a family to write the rest of his story with him.
