Our listed dogs ARE READY IMMEDIATELY; we only meet with families WHO ARE READY TO ADOPT! IF YOU APPLY and if WE APPROVE YOU it means we are assuming when you meet any of our dogs and fall in love you're ready to ADOPT AND HIM OR HER HOME!

Sweet petite INDIE is a gorgeous "Collie-Basenji" mix; she's the light golden color of shelties but she's full grown at 30lbs; all of the breed software says Basenji & Shiba. She has a very silky coat with white markings.
Indie has traveled to North Dallas from a tiny border town 7-8 hours away; she's been with a foster family who has held her and cared for her until she's gotten her ride up to The City!
Indie's favorite activity is cuddling. She likes to be right up against her human if allowed on the bed. She curls into a ball and also likes her bolster bed.
Indie needs a home with compassion and patience to help her decompress and acclimate to suburbia. She has shown no aggression and we are sure she will ultimately be a great family dog but for now are looking for a person or couple and / or another dog for companionship.
Indie has been very sweet with other dogs and puppies; she's still shy and curious. Since she's been an outdoor dog she's used to going "potty" outside and now uses a doggie-door.
Indie is playful without being hyper; she's been around dogs more than people but with our foster couple she opened up from "mom" to "dad" overnight!
Indie is going to be an exceptional companion and playmate for the right human and hopefully a similar type brother-dog to help her on her way!

General Info - PLEASE READ! *Our $450 adoption fee is based on the cost of rescuing, transporting and vetting each dog; we do not try to compete on prices with municipal shelters whose funds are paid by the city. Our philosophy is to rescue highly adoptable dogs, have them live kennel-free in private homes for temperament assessments and individual personalities.
We work hard to match EACH dog with the right family - kids or no kids, other dogs male or female and/or cats. With very rare exceptions all dogs over 6 months will be spayed or neutered PRIOR to adoption - dogs under 6 months will include a spay/neuter date AND referral info for lower-cost surgery if the adopter does not choose to use her or his personal vet. OUR VETS WILL NOT PERFORM SPAY NEUTER SURGERIES UNTIL DOG IS 6 MONTHS OLD.
