Meet Indiana

Indiana recently went on a Dog Day Out and here's what her DDO buddy had to say!

1st DDO:

"This is Indiana!

She is so sweet with a lot of energy and a lot of love to give! She love to give kisses and knows "come here".

We started our day out with a 3 mile hike. She's great on a leash and has no reactivity to squirrels. She's always very excited to see people. After we got some much needed energy out, I gave her a bath. She's definitely not a huge fan of the water but dealt with it fine. Then she had some zoomies in the grass. After that, we hung out at home for a bit. As for as I can tell she's house trained, we didn't have any accidents and she always went right as we walked outside. We worked on "down for about 45 min. She's a quick learner. I only heard her bark when she was frustrated as she was trying to figure out what I was expecting from her (or when she wasn't able to say hey to people). We ended the day with some cuddles and a nap on my lap."

2nd DDO:

"Hi I'm Indiana!!
5yrs old
HeartWorm Negative
Spayed Female
Knows Sit / Down
Good car rider after energy release
Good on leash after energy release
House Trained
Treat Motivated
Plays Fetch

Me and Indiana went out for a short morning outing to get some energy out.

She was very easy to get out of her kennel. Was also easy to load into the car and just jumped right on in. She was a good car rider but does woller and roll like a baby alligator to begin with until you get going then she settles in nicely.

We went to a sniffspot where she showed off her fetch skills. She was very playful and eager and quite a bit jumpy. Loved to poke her head through the holes on the play equipment as if she was playing hide and seek. She will talk to you to try to get you to play with her.

She's a goofy girl and loves to lay on her back and wiggle around for belly rubs.

She's very treat motivated and toy motivated.
She found herself a nice bone and took a good rest just hanging out next to us.

We just had a couple hours together but overall she is super fun and playful but also such a sweetie pie. She will give you all the kisses you can handle. "

As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines.

To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
