Hi my name is Ika short for Icarus. I'm just under a year old and 17 pounds. I was surrendered to the shelter along with the two kitties in my home due to moving. That's ok because I was a frequent visitor of the shelter meaning I was picked up many times after being found running around loose. My foster mom tells me we will find a family who will love me and keep me safe forever! I'm a sweet, happy and friendly little boy. I love all people! I love to snuggle! Snuggling under moms neck is one of my most favorite places to snuggle or up against her when she's on the couch or in bed. I am a kisser! I really enjoy running around the yard doing my zoomie's so a secure fenced in yard is required. It doesn't have to be huge, but enough of an area for me to run and roll around in the grass. I have fur friends in my foster home who are close to my size. We wrestle on the couch, I make weird noises, chase after each other outside, sometimes I bark when we are playing and snuggle together inside. I'm a bit goofy, I bark at my own shadow. I use the dog door to go out and potty when I need to. You and I will have to work on a schedule and you will have to watch my signals if you have to open the door for me. I've learned to share my chew bones with the others. That was a big step for me because I didn't have to share previously. I still grumble but usually that's all I do. I'm not a fan of loud noises, that's why being at the shelter was so scary for me. I hate it when mom raises her voice to correct one of the other dogs, I put my ears down and slink away. I always think I'm in trouble even though I'm not. Maybe I was yelled at a lot or maybe I lived in a very quiet environment before.....I wish I could tell mom which it was. In the beginning I wasn't a very gracious host when the newbies came to live with us, but now I have some confidence and I know mom will keep everyone in order so I am fine. I'm not a fan of big dogs, they intimidate me and scare me some so NO BIG DOGS. Mom says I have some Napoleon issues but they have really subsided since living with all these pups. Before I didn't have much exposure to dogs because I lived with cats. If you are looking for a fun, happy, loving, handsome little guy we might be the perfect match.
