Ida's Story

Ida-German Shepard female, 5-6 yr.(Sept. 2026)
Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for an application.
Ida came to the Rescue through the Prison Training Program. She was an owner surrender a couple months ago, when her prior owner passed away. The family could not commit to care for her and asked the Trainer at the Prison Program to help her find a home. She's been learning basic obedience at the Prison and is settling in now. Playing with her inmate trainer and the other dogs. Temperament assessment went great. No aggression towards any people or kids (but I would think older kids not babies, toddlers or under 14 years of age due to her size and because she is a GSD). No resource guardians of toys, treats, bedding, food, et

From the daughter:“My father passed away this evening, suddenly & has a 5YO German Shepherd named Ida. She was sitting by his body when we found Dad. We hope to find Ida a new home where she will be loved as Dad loved her. They were the best of friends.”

Ida's adoption fee is $450 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. For our application, please email rescuebc@hotmail.com. Please include your location and a phone number for future communication.
