Huxton's Story
Meet Huxton

Some dogs make an impression the moment you see their photo, and Huxton is one of those dogs. Huxton was named by a dedicated volunteer during a difficult month, and she hit the nail on the head with this handsome boxer boy.

Before coming to rescue, Huxton was wandering the streets in a pack of stray dogs. We believe he had been used by a backyard breeder and discarded when he was no longer useful. A local rescuer working tirelessly to help the overwhelming number of homeless dogs in her area aske for help.

Huxton was originally listed as a senior boxer, but we aren't convinced. Based on his energy and demeanor, we suspect he's closer to 3 or 4 years old. We'll know more after his veterinary evaluation.

Despite never having the stability of a loving family, he is good with children, gets along well with other dogs, and has the kind of easygoing personality that makes him a pleasure to be around. He settles in, takes things in stride, and seems genuinely grateful for every kindness.

We see dogs like Huxton every day but are constantly in awe of their resilience.

Available throughout the Northeast (NY, NJ, CT, RI, VT, PA, DE, MD, NoVA)

Apply to adopt:
www.chboxerrescue.com/adopt
