Oakland County Animal Shelter and Pet Adoption Center's Adoption Policy
If you are interested in one of our animals, please feel free to pop in whenever we are open! We stop adoptions 30 minutes before close, so we have ample time to go over paperwork. We have applications on site that are approved on the spot when you are fully ready to take home the animal. For dogs, we do require a meet n greet with all humans and canines that reside in the house. For cats, we require a meet with at least the youngest member of the household but encourage you bring the whole family. Any of our animals that are available for adoption, but not spayed/neutered, can be adopted but will remain in the shelter until they are fixed. All of our cats are $25 and dogs are $40. Our building number is 42E.
