Husk's Story

Husk is a 1.5-year-old male Siberian Husky with a story of resilience and a heart full of joy. He was found wandering as a stray in Texas and came into care in very rough condition—nearly hairless on his legs and snout, with cracked, bleeding skin. Thanks to months of patience and care, Husk has made an incredible recovery. Six months later, his fur is growing back beautifully, and he’s been transported north in hopes of finding the forever home he truly deserves.

Today, Husk is a stunning, regal boy with gorgeous coloring and a smile that can light up a room. His personality, though? Pure goofball. He’s a classic husky—independent, a little mischievous, and blissfully unaware of personal boundaries—but above all else, Husk just wants to have fun. He’s never met a person or dog he didn’t assume was a potential friend and playmate.

Husk loves romping around the yard with other dogs, exploring the outdoors, and satisfying his curious, adventurous spirit. After he’s had his fill of playtime, he’s happy to curl up into a fluffy ball for a well-earned nap… until it’s time to do it all over again.

He is fully potty-trained and crate-trained, knows his basic commands, and is continuing to work on his manners. Husk does great with other dogs and older kids, but because he tends to jump and invade personal space, he would do best in a home without small children or cats.

Husk would thrive in a home ready to embrace his happy, energetic nature and give him the love, care, and comfort he missed out on during the first year and a half of his life. If you’re looking for a joyful, playful companion and are ready for a little husky-style chaos and a lot of love, Husk might just be your perfect match.

If you’re interested in adopting, please fill out our application, and someone will be in touch with you shortly!
https://animalwelfarefriends.org/adopt/application/
