Meet Hunter

PUPDATE: I spent a little time with Hunter today and I was very impressed by his eagerness to learn. He can sit and shake with both paws. Very smart boy. He got excited but I just shhhhhh and he settles down.

Hunter was a returned adoption as he was getting aggressive with their older small dog and their kitten. He is a very friendly dog but he is a young pup with a lot of energy. He is a little over a year old and about 57 pounds. He needs consistency, time and patience to train him to behave like the dog we know he can be. He is good with children if he is monitored as he is rambunctious and doesn't realize his size. He will need a tall secure fence as he likes to climb out when left alone.
He is NOT good with cats and he will try to kill them so not kitties for this guy. We are going to try him with a med-large female dog to see how he does as he does not get along with smaller dogs. A play buddy would be great for him to get out some of his energy. He has never been around farm animals that we know of. He does good in the car, rides in the front sea, gets very excited. He is partially housetrained. Previous owners say accidents happen when he is not closely supervised, not kept on a schedule, overexcited or when the dog signals to be let out is ignored. So again, patience, consistency, watching for those signals. He would be great for a single person who wants an active hiking buddy. If you think that person is you, fill out an application and once approved we will call you and set up a meet and greet with him.

Please research POSITIVE training techniques
before applying for adoption. Once we receive your application it will be gone through and then you will be called to schedule a meet and greet. Please take your time and fill out the questions completely as we use these answers to determine the perfect home for the pet. Applications are found here:
The adoption fee of $200 includes spay/neuter, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, and an engraved ID tag.
