Hunter's Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Hunter is 5 1/2 yrs old and new to our rescue.

Hunter is the complete sheltie package. He’s handsome, charming...simply amazing! He knows exactly how to turn on the cute and win people over in no time. Hunter also has what you might call “selective intelligence.” He knows he’s smart, but doesn’t always want you to know it. Luckily, he is food-motivated and responds quickly to his name, so motivating him isn’t particularly difficult. Hunter already knows his basic commands like “sit,” “wait,” and “down,” and is currently working on “roll over” and “focus.”

He doesn’t like doorbells, knocks, car noises, and sirens. He also has mild separation anxiety when you leave the house (howling and whining). However, Hunter loves meeting new dogs and plays well with his foster’s other dog. With people, he can be a bit shy at first. He prefers a proper introduction (a few sniffs, please) before deciding if you’re a friend or foe. Once the pets start, though, he settles in nicely. He’s also pretty intuitive, and if someone seems uncomfortable around dogs, Hunter will let you know with a bark.

Need a little nudge getting going in the morning? Hunter can help with that. He loves turning in for the night with his foster and then making sure the day starts once he knows his foster dad is awake. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow who keeps you on schedule, Hunter would love to be your guy. He’s got that classic Sheltie energy, so he’ll appreciate room to play and maybe even a doggy friend to share it with.

Hunter is waiting to meet you, and he can’t wait to show off his love for pets, treats, and being right by your side.

Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.
