Huey's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Huey is a hard to place breed with his little stature and high energy so our best guess based on personality, energy, play style and appearance is a Shiba Inu and Chihuahua mix. He takes a day to warm up to other dogs depending on how pushy they are. Once he is comfortable, he is a noisy, rough and tumble, fun loving non stop kind of guy. He does have his moments of rest and he loves to cuddle with his people when he does. He is the type to roll all over you repeatedly for attention and pets. He has a little puppy still in that he will find something to chew and play with whether appropriate or not, so he just needs redirection in those moments. He is food possessive with other animals so he needs to be fed separately, but takes correction and guidance extremely well, so he is not hard to work with. Currently in foster with 8-11 other dogs and a few cats, he would be a good addition to any family, but he does chase and play with the cats, so we would prefer a home without them if possible. He would do best with older children based on his suspected breed mix, but experience is important, so we can consider homes with younger children if it is well versed in Chihuahua or Shiba Inu breed types.
