Hudson arrived needing a second chance.<br/>This sweet gentleman is approximately 9 years old and found himself in need of a new beginning. Once Hudson became a Fairy Dogmother Rescue dog, he made a visit to our amazing rescue veterinarian, Dr. Skube, for a full evaluation. What we discovered explained a lot.<br/>Hudson needed a dental cleaning and neuter surgery. During his dental procedure, Dr. Skube removed 10 severely diseased teeth due to extensive tooth decay. She also discovered that Hudson had a retained testicle that never descended when he was a puppy. Retained testicles can produce excess estrogen, which often causes hair loss and poor coat conditionfinally giving us an answer for Hudson's patchy appearance.<br/>And while Hudson may have been just a little dramatic during the first 24 hours after surgery (we won't tell him we told you that ), he has absolutely embraced his new life since then.<br/>Today, Hudson is eating well, his coat is already beginning to improve, and he walks with a little extra pep in his step. Most importantly, he seems to understand that life is finally being kind to him.<br/>Hudson will need an adopter willing to feed him soft food, but otherwise his wish list is pretty simple. He dreams of a quiet home, a predictable routine, and a human who sees beyond his current bedraggled appearance and recognizes the wonderful little soul underneath.<br/>Hudson isn't looking for adventure. He's looking for companionship.<br/>He enjoys other dogs as long as they respect his space and don't pester him.
