Hopper's Story
Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement-Kennel License #2617
**Due to Hopper needing neutered, his adoption will not be finalized until on or after: 6-26-26

Could he do well with kids? Yes, with children around 8 years, on a kid-by-kid basis.

Could he do well with other dogs? Yes, on a dog-by-dog basis.

Has this dog lived with cats? Unknown. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not "cat test" dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian's Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]

---

Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Hopper is a young, curious dog who initially lacked confidence but gained assurance through our interactions. During his assessment, he displayed varying levels of Fear, Anxiety, and Stress (FAS), pacing and struggling to settle. He quickly sought my companionship and enjoyed walking on a leash and exploring. Hopper was particular about treats, refusing low-value options, and didn't show knowledge of cues but was easily redirected. Although curious about play and toys, his interest waned quickly.

---

For more resources to help with any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDT
