Meet Hope

Sweet Hope has been given a second chance!

Hope was found starving and searching for scraps near a Chick Fil A and busy 1960 road. Her rescuer spotted her heading towards traffic and was able to throw scraps of food to lure her away. It took a team of 4 people including a police officer to finally load her into the car. Luckily for Hope, her rescuer happens to be the owner of a boarding facility who made room for her there and contacted ADORE.

No microchip was found and sadly, we suspect she was dumped after finding she still had some milk- but our vet concluded it would be close to when puppies might be weaned. Hope is heartworm positive and her skin was very irritated with calluses on her elbows and horribly on her back end which means she most likely has lived outside on concrete all her life. We brought her to our vet for vaccines and got her spayed once she was healthy enough. Our vet called after she woke from her spay and said her uterus was so scarred they suspect she has given birth many many times already in her estimated 4-5 years of age. Despite her past and what she has been through, Hope is a lover and is so sweet with people. The entire vet staff loves her and so does her rescuer! Hope has fully recovered from her spay and her skin has healed beautifully. She has never had an accident inside her run and she cuddles up on beds and blankets now! She loves the life of soft comfort. Hope is non reactive to other dogs but we officially testing her soon.

Hope is about 4-5 years old and weighs 66 lbs. We wouldn't say she's a lowrider exactly- but she is not a very large girl! She has a stocky build but she is pretty easy to manage. She has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. We will send her with one year of heartgard for slow kill treatment- or we will start fast kill method if an adopter would prefer that!
