Meet HOPE $400

We all have bad things happen to us in our lives. But, so often it's how you look at it that makes the difference. Hope reminds us of that every day. Hope found her way to us after being tossed from the back of a pickup truck in Oklahoma. Unfortunately, we have the video footage to show us what a terrifying and heartbreaking experience this was for her. But, despite this sad start, it is clear that Hope sees this as the opportunity it is...she is one lucky mutt! A kind woman took her in and cared for her until she could catch a ride up north to meet you! This petite little girl is likely about a year old-she's still got quite a bit of "puppy" in her. She would be considered a medium-energy pup. She is a lot smaller than she looks in her pictures, especially for being a likely boxer mix (about 30 lbs) and would likely be fine in an apartment environment-as long as she is able to get exercise. She currently lives in a home with 5 kids, 3 dogs and 2 cats. She LOVES all of them-she wants so badly to play with the kitties but so far, they aren't having it. While she is very gentle and does wonderful with the kids, she is still learning sometimes her little playful nibbles (when she gets excited playing) might hurt little hands so for this reason, dog savy kids or slightly older kids (more than 5) would be best. She has a playful, loving and happy spirit and is ready to do whatever you are! She walks her brothers and sisters to school every day and does great on a leash. She could entertain herself most of the day by chewing on a bone but has shown no destructive tendencies in her foster home. She LOVES the dog park and has made many friends there and is ready to go for a ride anytime! She is crate-trained and does well there when her family has to leave for a while. Hope knows potty goes outside but keeping her on a routine and reinforcing good potty skills have been important as she adjusts to her new family and home. She is extremely smart and has already learned several commands as well as knowing her house/yard after just her first day! Most of all, Hope just wants to be by your side. If you are working from home, she's happy to nap or chew on her bone at your feet. If you want to curl up and watch TV, she'll be your couch potato. If you're up for a hike or playing ball in the yard, she's IN! Hope is ready to meet her forever family who will love her as much as she does them. Apply to meet Hope today!
If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- www.luckymuttsrescue.org and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in Milwaukee. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dogs safety during the transition to a new home.

Current Adoption Fees Are:
$400+tax for puppies to 3 years old
$350+tax for ages 4-7
$250+tax for ages 8 and up
Bonded pairs vary

The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs. Should you see a dog that interests you, please send us a Facebook message or an email with your approval number. Please be patient with us, as Lucky Mutts Rescue is run strictly by volunteers and many of us work full time jobs, have families and also foster dogs.
