Honeybear's Story

Sweet and shy, I'm a gentle soul who just wants to belong to someone again. Hi, I'm HoneyBear. I'm a loving girl who lost her home due to housing issues. I know exactly how to be a loyal and devoted confidant and best friend. I've got experience! I love snuggling, warm blankets and being close to my humans. Milkbones are a favorite treat. I was a "free roamer" in my previous home because I'm housebroken and have good manners in the home. I love bones, and I have mastered "sit", "down", "come" and "stay". I lived and loved dogs and cats in my previous home plus a couple of teenagers that were my best friends. <br/><br/>I was left alone for hours during the day, and my favorite thing to do while my humans were gone was to find a sun puddle and catch some zzzz's. I’m just looking for a comfy place to spend my golden years, soaking up all the love I can. Yes, I want love, but I will love you deeply in return.<br/><br/>Could you be my family? It is very hard living in an animal shelter when you are used to living in a home and being doted on. Please don't forget about me. I want so much to be a valued member of a family again. Great Plains SPCA's Adoption Policy
We are open for adoptions, no appointment necessary, Wednesdays through Sundays from 11am-7pm. On Monday and Tuesday, we are available for adoptions by appointment only. -We recommend (and in some cases require) that all members of the household meet the pet prior to adoption. -Great Plains SPCA runs background checks on adopters and adults in the home over 18. -Great Plains SPCA requires all visitors to wear masks that cover the nose and mouth at all times while inside our buildings. Disposable masks are available upon request. If you have any questions about our adoptable pets, please call (913) 831-7722 or email adoptions@greatplainsspca.org. Our expert matchmakers look forward to finding you the perfect furry family member! Adoption Requirements: - Adopter must be 18 years of age or older. - For the safety and health of our animals, we do not ship pets. - Pet adoption fees range from $60 to $450. Our adoption fees help to offset the cost of evaluation, housing, feeding and medical care for the thousands of animals needing our help. We do our best to keep our adoption prices reasonable while generating income to support our goal of caring for animals available for adoption until we can place them in a loving home. The adoption fee for each animal varies and is dependent on many factors including: age, size, behavior, medical condition, and public demand.
