Honey's Story

Meet Honey!

Sweet as her name, Honey is an adorable little mama with a gorgeous golden coat, a scruffy little face, and the cutest fluffy tail! This tiny girl is ready to leave her mama duties behind and start her next chapter as someone’s very loved companion.

Honey weighs just 12 lbs and looks like she could be a Chihuahua/Terrier mix, maybe with a little Pomeranian sprinkled in for extra cuteness! Her breed is our best guess based on her looks, so we can’t say for sure what her mix is. Her exact age is also unknown, but we believe she is an adult around 3 years old.

Honey has been busy raising her two puppies, Toffee and Graham, and now it’s finally HER turn to be spoiled! We can just imagine her settling into a home where she gets all the love, cozy naps, and attention she deserves.

Think Honey might be your girl? The first step is to complete the adoption application below! We require an approved application before scheduling a meet and greet, so be sure to get yours in if you’re interested in making this sweet mama part of your family!

https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PDAR/Dog

Honey’s adoption fee is $600, which helps cover the cost of routine veterinary care. Honey is heartworm positive and was treated with a Proheart 12 shot.

Most of our dogs are rescued from high-intake shelters or straight off the streets in South Texas, where countless stray and abandoned animals struggle to survive. Adoption fees help cover the significant costs of veterinary care, vaccinations, preventatives, transportation, and preparing these dogs for their happily-ever-after.

Our dogs receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. Heartworm testing is provided when age-appropriate.

Please remember that submitting an application does not guarantee approval or adoption of a specific dog. We also do not offer foster-to-adopt arrangements due to insurance requirements.

Honey has spent her time taking care of her babies, and now we can’t wait for her to find a family who will take care of her! Could you be the one to give this sweet little mama her happily-ever-after?

Thank you for choosing adoption and helping us give deserving dogs a second chance!

Paws Deep Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
The first step to adoption, once you have identified a pet you would like to adopt, is to fill out an adoption application. You can speed up the adoption process by calling your vet ahead of time to give us permission to speak to them in regards to your current and past pets. You will be contacted to schedule an interview and a meet and greet after the adoption contract is approved.. We will need proof of age with a form of ID. Once we have gotten approval that you are allowed to have pets where you live, your adoption application is approved, the pet is altered, and adoption payment is received, only then will the animal be released. Some pets may be able to go home the day after adoption contract is approved others it could be a week. If the animal is deemed too young to be altered we will have the adopter sign a spay and neuter contract. The animal will need to be neutered when it is 6 months old and we will need proof provided to us by a licensed veterinarian. Once there is proof provided, the rescue will reimburse $100 of the adoption fee. If there is more than one qualifying approved applicant that is a match then the applicant who first inquired will get the opportunity to meet the pet and decide if they want to adopt before it goes to the next person in line. Note: Some animals will require home inspections or a fenced yard. Applying for a dog does not mean automatic approval. We reserve the right to deny applications. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_j7Qyk269a7uzMcOh1Ffx3PU9femw7Xd3t-Nj8TOfBE/edit Follow us on TikTok: @pawsdeepanimalrescue
