Honey's Story
Honey & Leo: Twice the Love, Forever Together - We are Looking for a special foster home for them.

This sweet brother-and-sister duo had their world turned upside down last week when their beloved owner unexpectedly passed away during surgery. His family lovingly cared for Honey and Leo until they could come to our shelter to begin the search for another forever home.

Honey and Leo are 7-year-old Chihuahua/Boston Terrier mixes who weigh approximately 30 pounds each. Their journey hasn't always been easy. They originally came from a hoarding situation before being adopted together four years ago by a wonderful owner who gave them the love and stability they deserved. Now, through no fault of their own, they're looking for a fresh start once again.

At the shelter, Honey and Leo are understandably shy, timid, and shut down. Losing the only home they've known has been overwhelming, but we know there are two wonderful little personalities waiting to shine again once they're back in a loving home.

Leo is the brave big brother. He's the first to investigate something new, and Honey happily follows his lead. Watching them together is a beautiful reminder that no matter what life throws their way, they always have each other. Because of their incredible bond, Honey and Leo must be adopted together—no exceptions.

Honey and Leo have not lived with cats, so their cat compatibility is unknown. They also have not been around other dogs while living with their owner. If you have a resident dog, a meet and greet will be required to make sure everyone is a good match. Compatibility with children is also unknown.

We're hoping to find these two a calm, patient home with a securely fenced yard where they can decompress, rebuild their confidence, and simply enjoy being dogs again.

We know asking someone to open their heart and home to two dogs is a big request. But we also know that the lucky family who says "yes" won't just be rescuing Honey and Leo—they'll gain two loyal companions who have already proven that love can carry you through life's hardest moments.

If you'd like to foster this deserving duo the loving home, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and complete our online dog adoption application.

Honey and Leo have lost so much—but with your help, they can find home again.
