Homer's Story

Homer here, a real catch with a heart of gold. I'm a male dog with looks that could kill, but I promise I'm a gentle soul seeking my forever home. With my dashing good looks and charming personality, I'm sure to steal your heart in a flash. Think tall, dark, and handsome with a hint of mystery. My intelligence shines through, and I'm always up for a good brain teaser or training session. I'm a fast learner, and with my eagerness to please, I'll be your loyal companion in no time. Age is just a number, and at a two years old, I'm the perfect blend of youthful energy and mature charm. My estimated 55-pound frame is sturdy and sleek, making me an ideal partner for all your adventures. I'm an active guy who loves exploring, but I also know how to relax and enjoy the simple things in life. Leash on? Let's go! I walk with pride and grace, taking in the sights and sounds of our journey together. My breed? Well, that's a fun mix too—a Heeler and/or Australian Shepherd, they say. A real unique combination, just like my personality! So, if you're seeking a faithful friend with a playful spirit and a loving heart, I'm your guy. I may look like a rebel, but I'm truly a golden boy ready to shower you

If you are interested in adopting, please the LSPCA website at https://www.lancasterspca.net/online-application to learn more about the adoption process and to fill out an application.

Lancaster SPCA - SC's Adoption Policy
Adoption Process: We do not operate a shelter. All animals are placed in foster homes until a permanent home is found. If you are interested in meeting one of our fur-babies, please complete the Adoption Application on our website at www.LancasterSPCA.net. Once approved, we will set up a meet and greet at a mutually agreeable time. Please note that completion of our application does not guarantee adoption of a Lancaster SPCA animal. We reserve the right to refuse adoption for any reason. Our rescue is an all volunteer organization. For each application we receive it takes time to review, contact all personal and veterinary references, and make a decision on approval. Depending upon volunteer availability, this can take several days to accomplish, especially when we receive a lot of applications or if we have difficulty reaching references. An approved application means that the applicant is approved to adopt a pet from our organization; it is not a guarantee that the applicant will be able to adopt the pet specified on the application. We often receive many applications at once so please don't be too disappointed if your application is approved but the pet you requested is no longer available. We strive to do our best, and always take the best interest of the pet into consideration. Adoption fees: (For adoptions beginning June 1, 2018) -Puppies - $200.00 - Includes full veterinary exam, spay/neuter, microchip, deworming and age-appropriate vaccines. -Adult Dogs / Seniors - $200.00 - Includes full veterinary exam, heartworm test, geriatric blood work (if needed), spay/neuter, deworming, rabies vaccine and adult booster, and microchip. -Cats & Kittens - $50.00 for one and $25.00 for each additional cat or kitten adopted at the same time - Includes spay/neutering, age-appropriate vaccines and FIV screening. Microchip available for additional $20. Kittens are litter box trained. Please note the following important information before completing the application: --For the animal's safety, we require that all puppies & dogs are adopted to homes that have a physical fence (no invisible fence) in place at the time of the adoption. Apartments, condos and town homes will be evaluated on a case by case basis. --A home visit will be conducted by one of our volunteers before an animal is placed in the home. --We require that animals already residing in the home be up-to-date on all shots. --We require pets be adopted to inside homes. --For cat adoptions, we have a strict NO DECLAW policy and will not adopt an animal to a home that intends to declaw. --To be considered as an adopter, you must have the knowledge and consent of your landlord (if renting), allow LSPCA to contact both vet and personal references, consent to a home visit by an LSPCA representative and be willing and able to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for an animal.
