Holly is a very sweet loyal black lab hound mix. She is 4 years, and a sleek 85 pounds. She is spayed, chipped and UTD on vaccinations. She is house trained and knows basic commands.
Holly is a smart strong pup with bursts of energy. With proper exercise she becomes a lazy snuggly dog. With proper introduction she gets along well with most dogs. She enjoys running and playing with dogs of all sizes. She has been attending daycare.
Holly would like to be with her people all the time. Since this is not always realistic, training will be needed to help her move beyond her fear of being left alone, even for short periods of time. Holly needs an active person that will offer her consistency training in her day to day life. Someone who works from home and has prior big dog training experience would be the perfect fit for Holly.
Holly would make a great hiking partner! She is very much a hound and will follow a smell out of the yard. So for her safety a fenced yard would be great but not a requirement as long as she is kept on a lead. Due to her size and loud bark we don’t think an apartment or young children would be suitable for Holly. She has no experience with cats but has done well with small dogs so is possibly cat compatible. An in-person assessment would be needed to verify cat compatibility. She has lived with two 10 pound dogs with no issue, and overall Holly tends to be very submissive once she properly meets people and dogs. She lets the small dogs rule. She has no toy, treat or food aggression that we have seen.
