Holden

Holden is a sweet and gentle love. He comes to us from a shelter in the Central Valley, which got him as a stray. Holden spent several weeks in the shelter. He faced euthanasia because of his long stay. The shelter asked us if we could take this beagle mix. He became a staff favorite at the shelter -- and we easily can see why.<br/><br/>Holden is estimated to be 2 years old. He is beagle-sized and has the beagle build. He is smooth-coated and tri-colored, with black and brown markings, two white paws, and white fur on his chest and underbelly. We believe that he is a mix of rottweiler and beagle (known as a "reagle"). <br/><br/>Reagles are known as loving, playful, and good companions. Holden is a very gentle, sweet, and non-aggressive dog. He can be somewhat timid if he thinks he may be in trouble, when he will roll over on his back. But he is well-behaved. Holden likes to be close, snuggle, and get pets. His favorite position is rolling over on his back, which he will do often wanting a tummy rub (which he loves) or he will take a nap in that position. At his foster home, Holden found his way onto the bed. He even will greet you in the morning with a beagle kiss in the face.<br/><br/>Holden gets along well with other dogs. He is social with his foster siblings but is not high energy and shown a lot of playing energy. He walks well on the leash and rides well in the car. He likes food like a beagle but takes food and treats gently.<br/><br/>Holden was neutered recently, has a microchip, and is current on his shots. His has some marks indicating he may have been bitten earlier in his life. But, again, Holden has shown himself to be nothing but a gentle guy who just wants love, friendship, and lots of belly rubs.
