Hitchy's Story

Meet Hitchy!

Ready to add a little extra joy, laughter, and adventure to your life? Then it's time to meet Hitchy!

At 2 years old and 65 pounds, Hitchy is a big-hearted, goofy boy who lives life with endless enthusiasm. He's the kind of dog who greets every day like it's the best one yet and is always ready to join in on whatever you're doing. Whether it's heading out for a hike, playing a game of tug, exploring the backyard, or curling up beside you after a busy day, Hitchy simply loves being with his people.

This handsome guy is incredibly affectionate and never says no to cuddles, attention, or making new human friends. He forms strong bonds with his family and has all the makings of an incredibly loyal companion for someone willing to guide him through his young adult years.

Hitchy is house-trained and has wonderful manners when left loose in the home, proving himself to be non-destructive and trustworthy. He's currently learning that his crate can be a happy place. While it isn't quite his favourite spot yet, he's making steady progress, and with patience and positive reinforcement, he'll continue building confidence.

One thing Hitchy absolutely loves is using his brain. Food puzzles, enrichment toys, and games that make him work for his meals are some of his favourite activities. Keeping his mind engaged is just as important as giving him physical exercise, and he's happiest when he has a job to do. A spirited game of tug is another guaranteed way to win him over.

Hitchy previously lived with another dog in foster care and truly enjoyed having a canine companion to play with. He loves other dogs, but sometimes his excitement gets the better of him, and he's still learning how to manage his impulses. With slow, structured introductions and continued training, he'll continue developing calm, polite social skills around his four-legged friends.

Like many young, energetic dogs, Hitchy is still polishing his manners. Because of his strength, and enthusiasm, he'll do best with an adopter who is confident, consistent, and committed to continuing his training. Ongoing work with leash manners, impulse control, and positive reinforcement will help him grow into the incredible companion he's already well on his way to becoming.

Hitchy hasn't yet been tested with cats or children, so thoughtful introductions would be important if they are part of his future home.

Hitchy isn't looking for perfection - he's looking for someone who's excited to grow alongside him. He's the kind of dog who will celebrate every adventure, make you laugh with his goofy personality, and remind you every single day just how rewarding life with a rescue dog can be.

If you're searching for an affectionate, intelligent, fun-loving companion who's ready to take on life's adventures by your side, Hitchy can't wait to meet you.

Location: Durham, ON
Age: 2 years
Weight: 65 pounds
Please visit our website www.fullcirclerescue.ca to learn more about this amazing pet and to see our other available dogs.
