Meet Hickory

sweet girl ISO fresh start and love! HICKORY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Hickory Best Guess for Breed: Lab mix
Best Guess for Age: 1 year as of February 2024 SEX: Female

Approximate Weight: 29 lbs

Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats but she can be tested

Currently Living at: DC area foster home

Special Adoption Considerations: Because Hickory is shy, she needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. Due to her shy personality, we do not recommend her for a home with children under the age of 12.

Hickory is Looking For: Her forever home! Hickory is eager to burn off all that awesome young-dog energy with romps in parks, long sniffy walks, and all the adventures her humans can dream up. The beach, the mountains, Starbucks for pup cups - yes, please! Meeting new pup and people pals along the way is definitely on her wish list too, as is exploring all the toys to see what she likes best.
Most of all, though, she wants to know where she belongs - and to be safe and loved under her own roof. In exchange, she promises to give adoring gazes, to make her humans laugh, and to be a loyal companion for all her days. What do you say? Does she get to spend her life with you?
What My Foster Says About Me: Hickory is such a sweet girl who loves cuddles and her butt scratchies from her people! She is shy at first, but once she warms up to you she loves to be with you! She also loves her toys and will throw them around and entertain herself for hours. She also has done great with her potty training and lets us know when she needs to go outside! Hickory also plays well with her foster sisters and loves to cuddle with them! At night she sleeps in her crate and does well in the crate when I am away at work! She also likes to go into her crate when she is feeling overwhelmed as it is her safe spot. Hickory would love a home where he has a doggie friend, lots of stuffies to play with, and lots of soft blankies to lay on!
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
