Hestia's Story
FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State. We are a local foster home based rescue.

Hestia is a beautiful little girl who is dreaming of a home where she will be a cherished family member. She is a wonderful companion and can be taken anywhere. Hestia loves being cozy on a pile of warm blankets as much as she likes going for walks. Just say the word and she is ready to join you no matter what the plans are. Hestia is hearing impaired due to a recent surgery, bilateral TECA-BO, which removed both ear canals and her middle ear. This surgery was done because of lifelong chronic and very painful ear infections that were not able to be managed with medical care and medications.

Hestia is living peacefully with the dogs in her foster home but we think she would really love being someone's one and only. She has had a lot of change in her life and a calm, predictable home is a priority for her at this time. Hestia is crate trained and housebroken when there is a routine. She will need a patient family to give gentle reminders while she adapts to her new surroundings. Because of the quick and unpredictable nature of young children we are asking for a home without children under 12 years of age.

Hestia recently received a Senior Wellness Exam with bloodwork. She had a history of chronic and very painful ear disease that was not being successfully managed with medical care and medications. Hestia recently received a Total Ear Canal Ablation Bulla Osteotomy in both ears. This surgery removes the entire ear canal and middle ear (tympanic bulla). Hestia has made a complete recovery and has even maintained some of her hearing. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccines. Hestia is 8 years old and weighs 10 pounds.

Please note, we have approximately a 200 mile adoption radius from Stanwood WA for our Senior Dogs. Save-A-Mutt may limit this distance based on the long term needs of this pet. We don’t adopt out of state except to the Vancouver BC area. We don’t ship dogs. Once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up their dog. For questions about this dog please call Elizabeth Woche, Senior and Special Needs Dog Coordinator, at 425-974-9479
