Hershey's Story

Hershey's owner came forward and decided to surrender him to our care after he was found wandering the streets for several days. He was skin and bones and his fur was very sparse. He is a chocolate lab, Red Doberman mix! We named him Hershey 🤎

We took him to the vet and learned a few things. Unfortunately, ❤️‍🩹He is heartworm +
However, 🙏🏼 he is negative for Lyme and Erlichia (thank goodness)

He is missing a lot of teeth! The vet believes it's a result of malnutrition as a puppy. He doesn't think all his teefers ever broke the surface!! -POOR GUY!

He is starting his heart worm journey with us with a full belly, lots of love and attention, and a super comfy bed.
He is the sweetest, most gentle soul. We are looking for a foster-to-adopt home where he can comfortably heal outside the shelter environment, while he gets his treatments. If you think this boy could stay with you, PLEASE let us know.

He loves people, kiddos, and other dogs. He does not like cats, unfortunately.Thank you for taking the time to look at our precious "pound puppies" If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly at 730-272-1071. We would love to help connect you with your new best friend.
