Hero's Story

HERO – AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION / FOSTER TO ADOPT

Hero is a 5-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix weighing about 50 pounds and, true to his name, he has a heart of gold. With his soulful eyes, floppy ears, and gentle nature, it’s hard not to fall in love with him immediately.

Hero loves cuddles, kisses, quiet time, and simply being close to his people. He’s affectionate, eager to please, and very food motivated, making training fun, especially with treats or chew toys involved.

This handsome boy enjoys calm walks, sniffing games, car rides, and exploring new places. Once settled into a walk, he becomes relaxed and easygoing. At home, Hero is calm, crate-trained, and settles nicely with soothing music and a cozy space of his own.
Hero would thrive in a quieter home with adults or older respectful children who understand how to move slowly and give him time to warm up. He has done well with teens and older kids, but younger children can make him unsure. He also enjoys calm, older dogs and would especially love a mellow canine companion to help him feel secure when home alone. Puppies and very high-energy dogs are not his style. He has not been cat tested.
Like many sensitive dogs, Hero is still building confidence. He can be reactive toward scooters and bikes and may struggle with separation anxiety without structure and support. His foster family has been working hard with him, and he continues to make wonderful progress every day. Hero will do best with patient adopters committed to continuing his training and routine.
Hero is loyal, loving, smart, and deeply devoted to his people. He doesn’t need a perfect home, just a kind one willing to guide and love him for who he is.
✨ Fully vetted
✨ Vaccinated
✨ Neutered
✨ Heartworm negative
🚩 ADOPT / FOSTER TO ADOPT
https://forms.gle/SDTy2v32RnViKk4j8
📧 info@thedogrescuesociety.net
🌐 www.thedogrescuesociety.net
