Henry arrived in rescue after coming from a puppy mill in a rural area during winter. He arrived heartworm positive, but has been treated and is doing great! He has settled into foster care nicely and has been loving learning how to "dog". His foster mom says Henry would like to introduce himself: Hi there, I’m Henry. I’m a bit of a wallflower at first, but once I know I’m safe, my sweet side truly starts to shine. I’ve spent some time learning that the world isn’t such a scary place, and I’m looking for a special person to help me continue that journey.<br/>I am a gold-star student when it comes to house training! I take great pride in keeping my space tidy when I’m being let out on a schedule. While I’m not quite ready for high-energy walks just yet—leashes still feel a little overwhelming for me—I am perfectly content lounging in a quiet, sun-drenched spot or exploring a secure backyard at my own pace. I’m a "slow burn" kind of friend. I take extra time to settle in and might hide or stay quiet while I learn the sounds of a new home. I get nervous around loud noises or fast movements, so I’m looking for a calm environment where I can blossom without any pressure to be the "life of the party" right away. I’d love a quiet, low-traffic household (a fenced-in yard is a huge plus while we work on my leash confidence!). Patient humans who understand that "good things come to those who wait." I’d do best in a home without small, high-energy children. Once I trust you, I will be your most loyal companion. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of a timid dog finally choosing to rest their head on your lap for the first time.<br/><br/>Henry is neutered, up to date on vaccines, on flea and heartworm prevention, microchipped and has had his teeth cleaned!<br/><br/>Henry is fostered in the Orlando area and his adoption donation is $400.
