I was scared and alone until animal control found me and brought me to the safety of a shelter. It was there they discovered my little secret: I am deaf.<br/>It's likely this is why my previous owner disregarded me. But what they saw as a fault, I see as a unique way of experiencing the world. I spent almost two months in the loud shelter environment, navigating it all through sight and smell, before a wonderful rescue organization discovered me and brought me into a loving foster home.<br/><br/>A Glimpse into Helen's World:<br/>Because I can't hear, I live in a beautifully quiet world, which means I rely deeply on eye contact, body language, a gentle touch to communicate, and a vibration collar. I am a very observant girl who has quickly learned hand signals for several commands. I am incredibly intelligent and eager to please my people!<br/><br/>In my foster home, I have proven to be:<br/>Incredibly Affectionate: I thrive on connection and love to be near my family.
