Hazel Grace's Story

I’m Hazel Grace, a 5‑year‑old Great Dane with a sweet soul, a playful streak and a whole lot of charm. I’m looking for a family who loves big dogs, appreciates a little goofiness and wants a loyal companion who will be by their side through everything.

Why You’ll Love Me:
- I’m fully house‑trained and never have accidents.
- I don’t need to be crated when you’re away - I’m a trustworthy girl.
- I know several commands and take treats gently.
- I ride great in the car and walk nicely on a leash.
- I have lived with teenagers and done well – I could live with kids familiar with large breed dogs.
- I’m adaptable - couch cuddles, yard zoomies, or a trip to Home Depot, I’m in.

My Dane‑isms (aka: my quirks):
Like many Danes, I have a few signature moves:
- I can be a bit headstrong about going outside when I think it’s time. My foster fur brothers are helping me learn the routine.
- I believe beds are for sharing… and I take my share seriously.
- I do enjoy a little counter surfing, but when the counter is literally at eye level, can you blame a girl?

My Play Style:
I love toys — stuffies, chew toys, all of them. I take great care of my things and never chew on anything that isn’t mine. I share beautifully with my foster fur brothers and enjoy playing with them.

What I’m Looking For:
A family who understands big‑dog life and wants a gentle, affectionate companion who will follow them from room to room. I’m loyal, loving, and ready to be someone’s heart dog.

Vetting:
I have had my vaccinations, negative for parasites & heartworms, spayed and have had a gastropexy.

Kentucky Great Dane Rescue's Adoption Policy
When you adopt a Great Dane, you get an appreciative best friend for the duration of your Dane's life. As a breed in general they are loyal, intelligent and very loving. Great Dane care is not overwhelming, yet every aspect of your dog's life depends on you. Making a decision to own a dog, especially a Great Dane, is a serious responsibility that should be considered. Fortunately, our Danes have helped us get it right over the years and asked that we pay it forward:) It is common knowledge that caring for a dog requires shelter, food, water, grooming and veterinary care. Understand that with a Great Dane, these tangible requirements are greater than a canine of a smaller size. How big are Great Danes really? Good question, have a look at our Great Dane growth chart for a comparison of age, weight, and height.
