Hazel's Story

Hazel is a beautiful, 2 year old female. We believe she is either a Miniature Australian Shepherd or a Border Collie, possibly a mix of the two! She is a petite girl, weighing only about 28 pounds. Hazel is a double merle, and is completely deaf and has some vision impairment. She can see very well most of the time, but we have noticed that she tends to bump into things and get confused by her surroundings when it is darker. This little girl is such a sweet dog! She has not met a stranger, and loves everyone she meets. If she could, she would be in your lap getting love and attention all day long. Hazel has also gotten along with all three of her canine foster siblings, and even likes to do some chasing and wrestling with her foster brother. She has lived with cats, small, and large dogs in the past and has done well with all. She would do fine in a home with other animals, but would be just as happy to be an only pet that receives all the attention, as well. Hazel doesn’t play with toys much but LOVES food, even vegetables! Hazel walks very well on the leash, and loves to go for walks and to go hiking. It’s not been warm enough but her former owner tells us she loves to go swimming. She knows a few sign commands, is completely housebroken, and is crate trained. Overall, Hazel is a great little girl who would fit in to just about any family willing to give her lots of love!! She is fully vetted, microchipped, and spayed. She will need a home with a visible fence. http://www.speakstlouis.com/forms/adoption-application/
