Hazel's Story

Meet Hazel — a very special girl with the sweetest, most sensitive heart 💛
She is the kind of dog who just wants to be close to her people. She’ll follow you from room to room and happily curl up wherever you are, just to keep you company. Kitchen? Bathroom? Couch? She’s there. (Yes... she may even hop into the tub for a nap while you get ready 😂)
She is the BIGGEST snuggler of all time. Be prepared for a couch buddy who takes up more space than expected, demands belly rubs, and loves to rest her head on your chest or tuck into your neck to show affection.
She’s also incredibly smart and eager to learn - already knowing sit, down, wait, stay, and shake a paw. She’s patient as can be when getting her harness on, standing still as long as needed while you sort it out.
In the home, she has been amazing. She free roams day and night and has never gotten into anything she shouldn’t. If left alone, she may cry a little at first, but she settles and naps while waiting for you to come home.
She loves sleeping in bed with her people, but is wonderfully respectful through the night. She’ll wait quietly until she hears you stir in the morning... then comes the happiest little jump onto the bed for snuggles 💛
She’s a great eater, waits politely for “ok” before meals, and loves a spoonful of pumpkin with dinner. Bonus points if you have sweet bell peppers, carrots, or cauliflower to share. One of her other favourite snacks is bites of snow while on a walk!
She is very smart and making progress every day. She can be prey-driven with squirrels and gets anxious/excited around other dogs, so she’ll do best as the only dog in the home, with someone committed to continuing her training, helping redirect her focus, and setting her up for success.
This girl has so much love to give and is going to be someone’s absolute shadow, best friend, and cuddle bug. 🐾

KCS Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Our adoption process is designed to ensure that each animal finds a loving, responsible, and permanent home. Potential adopters start by completing an adoption application, which helps us understand their experience, lifestyle, and what they’re looking for in a pet. We carefully review each application, conduct reference checks, and, if needed, a home visit to ensure a good match. Once approved, adopters meet the animal and have the opportunity to interact with them before finalizing the adoption. Our goal is to create lasting, successful placements where both the pet and adopter thrive.
